The issue of student safety has become a top concern for all employees working in our public schools. Along with public awareness of student safety issues increasing, school districts face new legal obligations with respect to child abuse reporting. School districts must now train their employees on child abuse reporting, and mandated reporters continue to be legally responsible to report suspected child abuse to the proper authorities. In this workshop, we will discuss the new child abuse prevention training requirements, and cover the fundamental legal requirements for child abuse reporting, as well as personnel laws that help promote student safety.
